Banners printed in Pensacola, built to last outdoors
Banners are the workhorse of local advertising: a grand opening, a weekend sale, a sponsored Little League team, a job site fence, a trade show booth, a church event. Gator Grafix prints banners on our own wide-format equipment at 8447 Pensacola Blvd, so there is no middleman, no shipping delay, and no surprise when you see the color in person.
Banner types
- Vinyl banners — 13 oz scrim vinyl for most jobs, 18 oz for heavy-duty or long-term use. Hemmed edges and brass grommets every 2 feet are standard.
- Mesh banners — perforated material that lets wind pass through. The right choice for construction fences, ball fields and anything on a chain-link fence near the water.
- Retractable banner stands — a printed banner in a roll-up aluminum base that sets up in seconds. Trade shows, lobbies, church foyers and markets.
- Pole banners — double-sided banners with pole pockets for streets, campuses and parking lots.
- Posters — full-color posters on paper, photo paper or rigid board, from 11x17 up to wall-sized prints.
- Yard and coroplast signs — if you need rigid signs on stakes, see our signs page.
Finishing options
Grommets are standard; we also offer pole pockets, sewn rope hems, wind slits and double-sided printing. Tell us how and where the banner will hang and we will finish it to suit. Banners that go between two poles or on a fence get a different setup than one taped to a table.
Designing a banner people can read
The most common mistake is too much text. A banner is read from a moving car or across a parking lot, so it needs one message, your name and a phone number or website, in letters big enough to read at that distance. Our designers lay it out for the spot it will hang in, pick colors that stay readable in full sun, and send you a proof before anything prints. If you have brand colors or a logo, send them; if you have nothing but an idea, that is fine too.
Hanging a banner so it lasts
- Use every grommet. A banner tied at the corners only will flap, stretch and tear at the first thunderstorm. Zip ties or bungee cords through every grommet spread the load.
- Keep it tight but not stretched. Bungees give a little in the wind; rope does not. Tight enough not to sag, loose enough to move.
- Fences and open lots get mesh. Solid vinyl on a chain-link fence near the bay is a sail. Mesh lets the wind through and stays put.
- Take it down for a named storm. No banner survives hurricane-force wind, and a banner that rips free can take the fence with it.
- Store it rolled, not folded. Folds crease the print; rolled around a tube, a banner comes out flat next year.
