Magnetic vehicle signs made in Pensacola
Magnetic signs are the fastest, least expensive way to put your business name and phone number on a vehicle. Gator Grafix designs and prints them in our shop at 8447 Pensacola Blvd: full color, laminated against the Florida sun, on a thick magnetic sheet that grips a steel door at highway speed and peels off in a second when you need the vehicle to look personal again.
Who buys magnetic signs
- Contractors and tradespeople who drive one truck for work and family, and want the company name on it only during the work day.
- Businesses with leased or rented vehicles that cannot be wrapped or permanently lettered.
- New businesses that want branding on the road today and will move up to a partial or full wrap later.
- Real estate agents, cleaners, lawn and pool services, delivery drivers and anyone who swaps vehicles or works for more than one company.
- Events and seasonal work where the sign only needs to be up for a few weeks.
How we make them
Every set starts with a layout from our in-house designers, built around your logo, name, phone number and the one service you most want people to call about. Keep it readable: a magnet is seen from a car length away at a stoplight, so we favor big lettering, high contrast and a phone number that can be read in two seconds. You approve a proof, then we print on a wide-format printer, apply a UV-resistant laminate and cut the magnet to size with rounded corners so the edges never lift in the wind.
We use a 30 mil magnetic sheet, thicker than the thin promotional magnets sold online. The extra thickness is what keeps a sign flat against a door at 70 mph on I-10 and what lets it survive a Gulf Coast summer without curling.
Magnetic signs vs. lettering vs. wraps
Magnets are removable and the cheapest option, but they only work on flat steel panels and need to come off for washing. Cut vinyl lettering is permanent, works on any body panel including aluminum and fiberglass, and costs little more than a good set of magnets. A partial or full wrap is the full billboard treatment. Many customers start with magnets and graduate to lettering or a wrap once the vehicle has earned its keep. We are happy to tell you which one fits your vehicle and budget.
What to send us for a quote
Three things get a magnetic sign quoted in minutes: the vehicle (year, make and model, so we know the door size and whether the panel is steel), your logo or current artwork, and the text you want on it. If you are not sure what to say, start with the business name, one line about what you do, and the phone number. We will send a layout on a photo of a similar vehicle so you can see the size before you commit.
Taking care of magnetic signs
- Apply only to a clean, dry, flat, painted steel surface. Not over trim, body lines, rust or fresh paint.
- Remove the signs at least weekly. Wipe the back of the magnet and the paint under it with a soft cloth.
- Store them flat, not rolled, somewhere out of direct sun.
- Do not run them through an automatic car wash with brushes.
